Pet relocation within Canada
Pet relocation services across Canada
We move dogs and cats between Toronto and Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Halifax, Regina, Saskatoon, St. John's, Montreal, Ottawa, Kelowna, Victoria, Quebec City, Thunder Bay, Charlottetown, Deer Lake and Fort McMurray as airline cargo. You choose the parts you need: home pickup, the crate, the vet visit, the airline booking and the arrival.

Pet transport within Canada, from Toronto
Pet Valet is a Toronto pet relocation company. We look after pets whose families are moving between Toronto and another Canadian city. Most of our customers are moving for work or family and do not want to spend four or five days driving across the country with a dog or cat in the back seat. A flight gets your pet there in a few hours.
You pick what you need. Some people want us to handle everything, from the front door in Toronto to the cargo office in Calgary. Others already have an airline crate and a vet appointment, and only need someone to book the cargo space and get their dog to Pearson on time. Both are fine. Your price only includes what you choose.
We only move pets within Canada. We choose the flight and the timing that are easiest on your pet. On most routes, the quote form shows your price on screen right after you enter your contact details, before you book.

What we handle on a move
Every part is optional. Tick the ones you want in the quote form and the price adjusts.
Home pickup in Toronto and the GTA
We collect your pet at your door, drive them to Pearson cargo and check them in. The price depends on the distance from your home to the airport, and the quote form prices your exact address.
Vet visit and health certificate
Air Canada needs a vet health certificate for every pet. WestJet needs one for some pets. We tell you which applies and can drive your pet to your own vet. You pay the vet directly.
Airline crate
We work out the minimum crate series from your pet's measurements and sell you a crate ready to fly, with bedding, dishes and labels. The crate is added to your quote if you need one. The size is always an estimate until we see your pet.
Airline cargo booking
We book the cargo space on the flight and timing that are easiest on your pet, fill in the airline forms and send you the air waybill number so you can follow the shipment.
Pearson check-in or airport help
We check your pet in at the airline's cargo office about 3 hours before the flight. Flying with your pet instead? We bring your pet to the terminal and help you at check-in.
Arrival
Someone you choose collects your pet at the airline's cargo office at the destination airport, and we send them the address, the opening hours and the air waybill number. Coming to Toronto? We collect your pet at Pearson cargo and deliver anywhere in Toronto and the GTA.
Two ways
Your pet flies on its own, or with you
When your pet flies on its own
Your pet travels as airline cargo in an approved crate. You can fly the same day, a few days later, or not at all. Many people send their pet once the new home is ready.
- We book the cargo space and fill in the airline forms
- We pick up your pet at home and check them in at Pearson cargo
- We track the flight and keep you and the person collecting your pet posted
- On routes into Toronto, we collect your pet at Pearson and drive them home
On most routes you see your price on screen right after you enter your contact details, and we email you a copy. For the rest, we send your price within 24 hours.
When you fly with your pet
Your pet travels on your flight, in the cabin or in the hold, depending on its size and the airline's rules. You book your pet with the airline and pay the airline's pet fee yourself. We help with everything around it.
- The right airline crate for your pet's size
- A ride to your vet for the health certificate, if the airline needs one
- A ride to Pearson for your pet on the day, and help at check-in
- Pets only in our vehicles, so you travel to the airport separately and we meet you there
Help at the airport includes 60 minutes at the terminal, plus the ride for your pet from your home. The quote form shows the price.

- 1
Get your price
Tell us the route, the dates and your pet's size. On most routes you see the price straight away.
- 2
Crate and vet
We confirm the crate size and supply the crate if you need one. If the airline needs a health certificate, we can drive your pet to your vet.
- 3
Flight booked
We book cargo space on a flight that suits your pet, then send you the flight details and the air waybill number.
- 4
Pickup and check-in
On the day, we collect your pet at home and check them in at Pearson cargo about 3 hours before the flight.
- 5
Arrival
Your pet is collected at the cargo office when they land. Pets must be picked up within 4 hours, so we confirm who is collecting before we book.

All routes, including routes into Toronto
Leaving Toronto, the price includes home pickup, Pearson cargo check-in and the flight with all airline fees. Coming to Toronto, it includes the flight, pickup at Pearson cargo and delivery to your new home. The price depends mostly on the crate size, which follows your pet's size: bigger crates cost more to fly. See how pricing works.

How your pet flies
Your pet flies on its own as airline cargo, in the hold of a regular passenger flight, in an airline approved crate. Not every airline does this: Porter and Flair take small pets in the cabin only, and Air Transat takes pets in the hold only when you are on the same flight.
We choose the flight and the timing that are easiest on your pet, and we check the airline's rules for your pet before we book.
The airline rules we work with
- Health certificate: Air Canada Cargo: A health certificate is required for every pet shipped as cargo, from a licensed vet, dated no more than 30 days before travel. WestJet Cargo: A health certificate is needed only for snub-nosed breeds, pets 8 to 12 weeks old, and pets that are sedated or have had recent surgery. It is valid for 10 days.
- Minimum age: 8 weeks on WestJet, 10 weeks on Air Canada.
- Snub-nosed breeds such as pugs, bulldogs and boxers have extra rules and may be refused in hot weather. We price these moves by hand. See snub-nosed breeds and flying.
- Strong breeds need a reinforced crate, and pit bull type dogs are restricted in Ontario, so they cannot travel through Pearson.
- Holidays: both airlines stop or limit pet shipments over the December holidays.

Straight answers
What we do not do
International moves
We move pets within Canada. Moves to other countries have their own import rules and are not part of our service.
Cross-country driving
We do not drive pets across the country. By road we cover Toronto, the GTA and cities within a day's drive, like Ottawa, Montreal and Windsor.
Owners riding along
Pets only in our vehicles. If you are flying with your pet, we meet you at the terminal.
Birds, reptiles and exotics
Pets that need careful temperature control get a custom quote. Tell us about your pet and we will see what is possible.
End-of-life services
We do not offer rides to euthanasia appointments or transport to a crematorium. Your vet can point you to services that do this with care.
