What we collect

Contact details: your name, email address and phone number, and the name and phone number of anyone you ask us to deal with, such as the person collecting your pet.
Addresses: pickup and drop-off addresses, and the airports and cities for an air move.
Pet details: species, breed, age, weight, measurements, health notes and anything else you tell us about your pet, such as vet records or a health certificate.
Trip details: dates, the services you choose, your quotes and bookings, and our messages with you.
Technical details: your IP address and basic browser information when you use the quote form. We use these to block spam and to limit how many requests can be sent in a day.

We do not ask for payment card details on this website.

Why we collect it

To work out your price, including the driving distance between your addresses
To book and carry out your trip, including the airline booking, the paperwork and the pickup at the other end
To keep you posted by email, and by text if you agreed to texts
To keep the quote form safe from spam and abuse
To keep the business records the law requires, such as tax records

We use your information only for these purposes. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share only what each one needs to do their part:

The airline carrying your pet: the shipper and contact details, your pet's details and the flight, so they can book and carry your pet.
Destination partners and our drivers: names, addresses, phone numbers and pet details, so they can collect and deliver your pet.
Your vet, when we arrange or drive your pet to a vet visit.
Google Maps: the addresses you type, to suggest addresses and work out driving distance and time.
Our email and text message providers: your email address, phone number and the messages we send you.
Cloudflare: hosts this website and our database, and runs the spam check on the quote form.

Some of these companies store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws. We may also share information when the law requires it.

Photos of your pet

Our drivers may take photos and short videos of your pet to send you updates during the trip. We may share some of them on our website and social media, showing your pet only, never your name, address or home. You can say no when you book or at any time by email, and we remove any photo you ask us to. See section 19 of our terms.

Texts

We send texts only if you tick the box in the form. Every text tells you how to stop them: reply STOP at any time. Message and data rates may apply.

Cookies

We do not use advertising cookies. Our hosting and spam check may use small technical cookies or similar tools to keep the site working and secure.

How long we keep it

Quote requests that do not turn into a booking: up to 24 months, then deleted.
Bookings and the records tied to them: as long as tax and business law requires, usually six years after the end of the tax year.
Spam protection data such as IP addresses: only as long as needed for that purpose.

How we protect it

Your information is stored with access limited to the people who need it to run your trip. Passwords and keys for our systems are kept out of our code. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we will tell you if a breach puts you at real risk of harm, as the law requires.

Your rights

Ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy.
Ask us to correct information that is wrong.
Withdraw your consent, for example to texts, at any time. If you withdraw consent that we need to carry out a booked trip, we may not be able to complete it.
Ask us to delete your information, unless we have to keep it by law.
Complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you are not happy with our answer.

We reply to privacy requests within 30 days.
