What do you need?

Four steps

How a pet move works

You tell us about your pet and where they are going. We take it from there and keep you posted at every step.

  1. 1

    Get your price

Fill in the form. On most routes you see your price as soon as you enter your contact details. For the rest, we send it within a day.

  2. 2

    Crate and paperwork

We suggest the right crate from your pet's measurements and supply it. If the airline needs a vet health certificate, we tell you and can drive your pet to your vet.

  3. 3

    Pickup and check-in

We pick up your pet at home and check them in at Pearson cargo about 3 hours before the flight. You get a message when they are checked in.

  4. 4

    Arrival

Someone you choose collects your pet at the airline's cargo office, and we send them the address, the opening hours and the air waybill number. When your pet lands in Toronto, we collect them and bring them home.

Paperwork handled

Rules from the airlines themselves

Breed rules, embargo dates and crate sizes come from Air Canada's and WestJet's own pages, with the date we last checked.

Questions people ask

How much does it cost to move a pet within Canada?
It depends mostly on your pet's size, because a bigger pet needs a bigger crate and the airline charges by crate size or weight. The route, the pickup and delivery distance, and extras like a crate or a vet ride also count. Fill in the form and you see your exact price in about three minutes. See what affects the cost.
Which airlines do you use?
Air Canada Cargo and WestJet Cargo. They are the only airlines that carry pets as cargo from Toronto.
Can my pet fly without me?
Yes. Your pet flies as airline cargo in an approved crate. We handle the booking, the paperwork and the check-in at Pearson. Someone you choose collects your pet at the airline's cargo office at the other end, and we send them the address, the opening hours and the air waybill number. When your pet flies into Toronto, we collect them at Pearson and bring them home.
Do you drive pets to other cities?
Yes, within a day's drive of Toronto: places like Ottawa, Montreal, Kingston, London, Windsor, Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie, door to door. We do not drive across the country. Long drives are hard on pets, and for cities further away a flight is faster and calmer.
Do owners ride along?
No. Pets only in our vehicles. If you are flying with your pet, we bring your pet to Pearson and meet you there.
What if my dog is a snub-nosed breed?
The airlines have extra rules for snub-nosed breeds like pugs, bulldogs and boxers, and may refuse them in hot weather. We check with the airline and price these moves by hand. See snub-nosed breeds and flying.
