About us
About Pet Valet
We are a Toronto based pet transport company. Our main work is moving dogs and cats within Canada, by air and by road. We also run a local pet taxi in Toronto and the GTA.

Why we do this
Moving to a new city is a lot. Moving a pet at the same time adds a list of questions that are hard to get straight answers to. Which airline takes pets as cargo? What size crate? Does my dog need a vet certificate? Who picks them up when they land? What will it cost?
The answers are spread across airline cargo pages, tariffs and PDF forms, and they change. Many pet movers only give a price after a phone call. We wanted to do it differently: give you a price online, keep the airline rules current, and handle every part of the move that you want us to.
What we do
We move pets between Toronto and Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Halifax, Regina, Saskatoon, St. John's, Montreal, Ottawa, Kelowna, Victoria, Quebec City, Thunder Bay, Charlottetown, Deer Lake and Fort McMurray, in both directions. Moving somewhere else in Canada? Get a price and we will plan the move with you.
You choose the parts you need:
- Home pickup anywhere in Toronto and the GTA
- A ride to your own vet for the travel health certificate, when the airline needs one
- An airline crate in the right size, ready to fly
- The airline cargo booking and the paperwork
- Check-in at Pearson cargo, or help at the airport if you are flying with your pet
- Everything the person you choose to collect your pet at the destination airport needs: the address, the opening hours and the air waybill number
Closer to home, our pet taxi takes pets to the vet, the groomer, daycare and the airport. See how it works for each step.
How we work
What you can expect from us
A price without the wait
Most pet movers make you wait for a quote. On most routes our form shows your price as soon as you send it. When we have to price a move by hand, we say why.
The right flight for your pet
We choose the flight and the timing that are easiest on your pet, and we check the airline's rules for your pet before we book.
Airline rules from the airlines
Breed rules, embargo dates, crate rules and health certificates come from Air Canada and WestJet's own pages, with the date we last checked. Not from memory, and not from other people's blogs.
No promises we cannot keep
The airline makes the final call on every flight. We never promise one. We confirm space with the airline after you book, and we tell you straight away if anything changes.
Pets only on board
Our vehicles carry pets, not people. The driver's whole job on the trip is your pet.
A straight answer
If a move is not a good idea, or we cannot do it, we say so. That includes dates inside an airline embargo and breeds the airlines will not take.
What we do not do
We keep our work focused so we can do it well.
- No cross-country driving. Days in a car are hard on a pet. By road, we cover Toronto, the GTA and cities within a day's drive, like Ottawa, Montreal and Windsor. Further than that, a flight is faster and calmer.
- No moves outside Canada. We move pets within Canada, and that is what we do best.
- No end-of-life services, such as euthanasia appointments or transport of remains.
- Birds, reptiles and other exotic pets that are sensitive to temperature get a custom quote, and sometimes the honest answer is no.
Where we are
We are based in Toronto and work across the GTA, with air moves to and from cities across Canada. We do not have a shop front: our drivers come to you. See the service area, or get in touch.
Pet transport companies, vet clinics and careful drivers who want to work with us: see partners and drive with us.
